My Father passed away 08/06/2023 in New York and honestly, we had a very bad experience with the Funeral Home in New York for them our lost it's a business for them. We had to bring Papi to Virginia because it's his last wish, he always loves Virginia. Fortunately, we found this wonderful place months before he passed. 08/17/2023 we finally brought Papi to Virginia and we know Mrs. Caithlin Johns who understood the hard moment what we're passing, and she show us compassion, she gave us the comfort we needed, off course we understand that it's a business but no one in this place treated us like that. We felt blessed with this wonderful lady Mrs. Johns, thank you so much for everything you have done for us. Also, 09/11/2023 passed a young man who was a Love of my Niece with a brilliant future together. We knew Mrs. Ava Oaxaca and let me tell you, it's the same as Mrs. Johns we felt the comfort that we need, the compassion and everything you want to feel in the sad moment that you're passing. Finally, I want to mention an especial person that I met in the visitation of Carlos the young man who passed, Mrs. Gail the funeral assistant she talked to me without know me and she gave me the most beautiful and powerful words about this hard moment that I keep it in my heart. Thank you so much for all you have done Mrs. Johns, Mrs. Oaxaca and Mrs. Gail. God bless you all of you and everyone in Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home.

When my son passed away June 4, 2023, our entire family was in shock and overwhelmed with all the funeral arrangements that had to be made but from the moment we walked in to Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home and sat down with Ava Oaxaca we felt immediately comforted and at ease. She walked us through all the arrangements, costs involved, with efficiency & patience. No matter what time of day or evening, she and her staff were there to answer any questions I had & go the extra distance to provide anything we needed, even if it was at the last minute. Her assistant Brittany was there if Ava couldn't be and she also helped me navigate the wake, service & burial with ease and comfort for all my family & guests. From my first phone call to the day of my parents' interment he was always there to answer my questions and help with the planning. He was so encouraging and helpful as I worked to design the grave stone. The final product was exactly what we envisioned. It has been 6 weeks since my husband Steve died. During that time I have had the chance to reflect on what I have endured, my family and myself, over that period of time. When grief hits, it is like a tide that takes the sand out from under your feet at first, and then it hits in waves. How to endure it. Memories. During this time some of my best memories have been of the people at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home who made a difference in our peace of mind and in seeing to it that my husband had a service that was exactly as we wanted it. A cedar casket fit for a king, because he was one. I would like to give special thanks to Funeral Director Caitlin Jones who is one of the most thoughtful, kind, sympathetic individuals I have ever known. She's the one who made the difference. A difference that allows us now to reflect with pride on what we accomplished as the family of the "luckiest" man who ever lived for 30 years with ALS. His fight, our fight, was honored by Caitlin. The Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home was a God send to my sister and myself. When we met with Ava Oaxaca and Rachael Harris, we were both in great despair over the death of our mother. We were not sure how to prepare a memorial/celebration of life service to represent the love we had for our mother. Ava and Rachael were both very helpful and made things so much easier during this difficult time by guiding us through the process of planning the memorial/celebration of life service. At such a difficult and emotional time your professionalism & personal approach made things so much easier to bear and we were truly touched. We can’t say enough good things about Cathy and Fairfax Memorial. When my uncle passed away, Cathy took care of all of the details and planning with compassion and understanding. All of my uncle’s family lived out-of-state, and he was a priest and Veteran to be buried with honors, so Cathy had a LOT of extra details to coordinate. She handled all with ease and professionalism so that we could be with family. We highly highly recommend Fairfax Memorial.

Fairfax Memorial handled my uncle’s funeral beautifully. We had to plan from a few states away, and Cathy and everyone there were so efficient and kind while helping us with the details. My uncle was a Catholic priest as well as a Veteran buried with honors, so Cathy had a lot of “extras” to coordinate. She was so professional and helpful and made my uncle’s “goodbye” as perfect as he deserved it to be. I’m grateful to Cathy for thinking of and handling things we wouldn’t have thought of and for respecting my uncle’s humble wishes. Highly highly recommend Fairfax Memorial.

From the first moment of contact until the last moments before you depart your loved one at the graveside, the care and stewardship you receive from FMFH is simply outstanding. Our needs were carefully listened to from the moment of first contact. Each and every consideration and detail was as important to them as it was to us. It did not matter whom was working with us at the moment, each individual had a knowledge of our family, what our services were to look like and the various actions they needed from us to make it all happen. From casket selection to clergy coordination, they held our hands when needed and gave us good advice when asked. In particular, we had some difficult timing challenges they were able to quickly generate alternatives to solve which required careful coordination and communication among several parties. There was nothing by kindness and compassion from everyone. Simply stated, Brian, Adam and Diana worked together seamlessly to guide us through the most difficult event of our lives. We are eternally thankful for the dignified and seamlessly planned send off our Father received. This was the second time they helped our family and we will continue to return in our time of need.
